I was watching one of those amazing BBC dramatized programmes on Emperor Constantine, and it seemed to me that after Jesus helping him win a couple of battles, he ultimately let the hated Roman Empire crumble and fall.

That was amazing for a man in sandals and robe, wasn't it? What's the moral of the story? Beware of Jesus!!!

Rome, like all empires, fell because the rich got richer and the poor poorer until the entire rotten top heavy sewer faces barbarians at the gates.
When Rome started it was citizen farmers putting down their plows and picking up thier swords and going to war when needed. At the end a couple pigs in Rome owned all the land, it was just sharecroppers and the army was foreign barbarians.
I don't know, somehow it sounds familiar. Jesus didn't deliver the goods and the barbarians took advantage of it. It doesn't sound like the quality of life got any better.

That's right. His kingdom is not of this world. Perfect slave religion.
