There are several reasons cited in the article. I think the one-child policy means well, but the law of unintended consequences takes over.
The other side of the coin is that low birth rates are a problem. Japan and Western Europe are aging fast. Actually the elderly control the political machine in America.
Solutions are complex.

I think any policy needs constant reviews as the problems arise. For example, giving a tax rebate or reward to families with girls only.

I advocate that we give them a large sum to be paid to their family when they decide to "take the jump."

Well no. That would be hard to sell but I'm sure many elderly wouldn't mind. We should simply remove their voting rights.

Mind you, they can still come here to the Internet and use their wisdom to teach something. That's what I do anyway.

OK, we can finally set up some guidelines as to who should take the jump and who shouldn't:

1- An old man who's unable to ride a bike or have sex is welcomed to take the jump.

2- An old man who otherwise uses his brain is exempt from jumping. That makes the Christians very welcomed to jump.

Those are the laws of nature: use it or lose it!

We don't need more corrupt voters and drivers. They are clogging the system.

Well, the bicycle is much smarter because it takes advantage of the wheel, man's greatest invention.

I'd say the ones that take buses, walk or ride a bike. The last two fear traffic more than any criminal.

Well, I see some smart people around here. I want to share views and perhaps learn something.
